“First, I want to say that yesterday, knowing Van Ness Hospital will be opening soon, and as a way to say good-bye and close a profound chapter in my work and life, I walked EVERY floor to look at all the art and donor installations yesterday, as well as admire the interior design. I know we intended that all would complement the other, but really, it just SINGS in a way far beyond anything we could have planned. The colors, styles, warmth, beauty, themes and messages each and all enhance the other with strategy and creativity. Simply said, WOW. I AM SO PROUD. Hope you take that in as you were guide to the entire crazy, wonderful, imprecise process (twice!) also did the Mission Bernal Hospital, but one seeded with lots of smart, strong and steady groundwork and a great eye and discerning gut for sourcing great art.”

Executive Director
Kaiser Permanente
“The Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center completed an expansive two-phase replacement of its hospital with a twofold goal of providing our members and visitors with art that is aesthetically pleasing and also tells the Kaiser Permanente story, highlighting the many healthcare advancements of the organization. Jane Thompson and her team were integral in ensuring the opening of the new facility was a success.
I am pleased to inform you that Jane and her associates were hugely successful in creating an elegant and sophisticated healing environment, designed to inspire and comfort our patients and their families. Jane and team met our needs by listening carefully to our ideas for capturing the perfect mood and tone of each area and achieved the wow factor we sought. We found her process for identifying the art selections well thought out and gave us great confidence in her abilities as an art consultant. Additionally, Jane was always very responsive with new pieces to ensure we achieved our vision.
I highly recommend JDT & Associates as a strategic partner for creating the perfect environment through art. Her professionalism and ability to make the process enjoyable is commendable and much appreciated. I hope to have many opportunities to work with her again.”

“We had the privilege of working with JDT & Associates on several artwork projects, the largest being the Sue and Bill Gross Women’s Pavilion. Jane’s attention to detail, exceptional project management skills, and experience in selecting a variety of artwork made our entire project stand out.
The artwork selected for each project was always the finishing touch needed to complete the overall esthetics while at the same time giving a sense of calm and serenity to the patients and their families in the healthcare setting.
I highly recommend JDT & Associates for any type of artwork project and highly valued member of a project Team.”

“MLKCH is a unique public, private partnership as a new hospital in South Los Angeles. Jane and team have been exceptionally patient with the funding and construction delays throughout our project, offering creative solutions and continuing to source local artists within our limited budget. Jane convened an artist’s reception to share the mission, vision and challenge of creating healing spaces in the new MLKCH. She attracted a wide panel of renowned and emerging artists and has negotiated successfully and effectively with them on our behalf.
As our art collection begins to grow under Jane’s competent guidance, I most value the gigantic electronic notebook that inventories every potential art space in our 131 bed hospital. From soaring atrium dimensions to inches above the patient bed headwall, Jane and her team have created a comprehensive inventory of every space available for art, with themes by floor and acquisition opportunities. Her strategic approach to building an art collection begins with understanding the client’s objectives and a thorough understanding of the installation locations and opportunities. Jane’s detailed approach attracted the attention of our first major art donor, The Disney Foundation. Her inventory will be a lasting investment that will guide our acquisitions, placement and donor recognition for decades to come.
I highly recommend JDT & Associates based on their strategic facility plan for art, creative problem-solving approach and genuine enthusiasm for the work. Jane is a pleasure to spend time with; she is smart, intuitive, fiscally prudent and flexible.”

“Should the need arise for the services of an outstanding art consultant, I highly recommend giving Jane Thompson every consideration.
I had the pleasure of working with Jane on the art program for the UC Irvine Douglas Hospital in which Pickett Design Associates served as furniture designer and art program coordinator. In every respect from initial presentation through selection to final installation, Jane demonstrated impeccable professionalism and attention to detail. Jane is highly qualified to combine the creativity needed for an exceptional art program along with a sound business sense to run the project smoothly.”

“Huntington Memorial Hospital recently completed a large-scale expansion on its campus, through the addition of a new seven-story West Tower building. J. D. Thompson & Associates was integral to the success of this project, helping us create a cohesive art program that encompasses the overall vision of our facility with a true connection to the local community.
Jane Thompson demonstrated great professionalism and an impressive ability to listen to input from multiple sources and create an overall collection that both fit the criteria we provided her and was customized specifically for our facility. Jane’s hands-on approach was reassuring in every aspect, from the initial selections through the final installation. The art was on time, within budget, and has truly added the finishing touch to our new hospital wing.”
